It
is often very useful to have a stump ground below grade once the
tree has been removed. The area can be reclaimed for lawn or
planted over as part of a garden. Aside from the aesthetic
reasons to grind stump, old stumps can house carpenter ants and
other unwanted pests. It is sometimes necessary to grind the
stump of trees afflicted with root rot to prevent its further
spread to neighboring trees. |
